The Trace of Camden

This exhibition explores ‘the dynamic transformations taking place in Camden, with a particular focus on the highly anticipated Camden Highline. This proposed elevated green space, which will run alongside the existing train tracks from Camden Garden to Kings Cross, promises to reshape the urban landscape, providing a new pedestrian walkway for both locals and visitors to enjoy.

In writing my poem I wanted to reflect on the history and transformation of Camden, a place shaped by both its physical infrastructure and its cultural evolution. The imagery suggests a contrast between the permanence of stone and the transient nature of sound, air and movement, evoking themes of memory, change and urban life. I personified Camden as coming to life with possibility and connection.
