This painting is lost. I remember applying many tubes of oil paint to get solid colours and an impasto-like texture. When I went to pick it up from school, it could not be found. It remains a mystery. But it is a painting I enjoyed making, which means it was worth it. And I still have this picture.

I like the contrast between the exuberant rainbow colours and the worried expression. Standing out, even in a way that looks good, can be exhausting. My aim was for the onlooker to look beyond the colours and see the person and their emotions.
